Builders Assistance

Overview:

Our Builder Assistance programs are designed to get your Zenith airframe assembled quickly and cost-effectively. Different levels of builder assistance are offered at our facilities, all starting with the standard or Quick build Zenith Kit. Assistance is provided by highly skilled and experienced builders; it ranges from one-on-one full-time hands-on help to on-demand mentoring, based on the program chosen.  Builder Assistance and Builder Support is  easily customized to meet your needs. We do not work on  any other models other then Zenith Aircraft Kits, this ensures the people helping you are the ones with the right knowledge, this is what they know, they won't have to learn at your expense. Can-Zac Aviation is the Canadian Distributor for Zenith Aircraft Kits and Zenair designs, with over 10 years of experience working on Chris Heintz designs only.

Note that the fees quoted here are for illustration purposes only
and
for the assembly of a Standard or Quick-build kit from Can-Zac Aviation.
The installation of any optional equipment and/or any modification
will
change the amount of time and the cost of the project - sometimes
significantly. Again, custom features can certainly be installed, but even
common
options will impact the time-frame and cost for every project.

Can-Zac Aviation makes its facilities available for kit customers who wish to contract for block-time programs (i.e. two weeks at a time) or for hourly Builder Assistance by the day. We have had numerous builders contract for assistance with just their wings or fuselage (to give a long-standing project a boost). Our daily shop fee is $50.00 plus a modest $5.00 tool usage surcharge. These fees apply whenever a kit project is in our shop and being worked on. There is a $8.00/day storage fee for a kit stored in our storage hanger when it is not being worked on

Prior to the beginning of any Builder Assist program (Airframe, Firewall Forward, Instrument Panel, etc.), a detailed work-order will be prepared and signed by all parties to clearly define expectations and anticipated costs. Any subsequent changes from the agreed-upon work-order will need to be made in writing and signed by all parties.

Finally, because your Zenith Kit will be built, registered and flown as an "homebuilt" aircraft, you - the owner - will ultimately be considered the manufacturer of the airplane. This is good! You will also be the 'final authority' for all aspects of work accomplished during our Builder Assistance Programs. Can-Zac Aviation Ltd., its employees and/or associates can in effect only offer suggestions and assistance (and we do much of both!). Please remember though, that overall responsibility for the construction, assembly, inspections, registration & operation of the aircraft will at all times remain with you, the proud, new owner! The ultralight or Advanced Ultralight registered plane can be assembled as a ready to fly aircraft completely by Can-Zac Aviation. Though owners are encouraged to participate in it's development.

 THE PROGRAMS:

The Airframe:

We offer two options for those interested in Builder Assistance for their Zenith airframe. Our first is an intensive ten-day program designed for individuals willing to work hard to get very fast results; our second is a more leisurely paced program that allows for some breaks between major airframe components. In both cases, the standard 2 seater airframe should be on its gear with tail surfaces and wings installed by the end: ready for engine, instruments and other finishing touches.

 The Fast Airframe:

Two weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00. You will be working with two others most of the time for the fastest results. Come ready to work!

 Airframe by Components

Tackle your project one short week at a time, with breaks in between. Can be scheduled over a few months if needed.

 Firewall Forward Installation:

Can-Zac Aviation can coordinate an intense three-day program for your engine of choice to be installed and ready for fuel connections, electrics and instruments. This includes mounting engine to mount, mount to firewall, muffler, oil cooler, cowling, prop and spinner. Currently only available for complete FWF packages: Jabiru 3300 or Rotax 912S from Can-Zac Aviation. Additional engine work can be arranged at the regular rates

Instrument Panel:

Pre-order your personalized instrument panel, then simply install and make the connections. Call for details.

Avionics:

Have your choice of radios, navigational equipment, intercom, etc. professionally installed on location. Call for details.

Be advised that with all programs, the overall responsibility for construction, assembly, inspections, registration & operation of the aircraft will at all times remain with the builder/owner.

Build your plane with the people who know it best, Can-Zac Aviation Ltd.
