The ZODIAC XL
Quick-Build Kit provides maximum pre-assembly of kit parts to save the
builder valuable time and to simplify assembly.
Nearly all major components have been pre-aligned with rivet holes
pre-drilled: Once clecoed together in jigs, most sections are then taken
apart again for easy shipping and final re-assembly by the builder. The
fuselage and tail sections are riveted together, and the wings are taken
apart again for easy shipping and final re-assembly by the builder.

The ZODIAC XL
kit, whether the standard or quick-build kit, is made up of
the same quality parts. The difference between a standard and quick-build
kit is the level of assembly of the various kit components. Assembly
time with a Quick-Build Kit is 50% less than with the Standard kit! |
|
|
|
While the
standard kit is developed to provide all the kit parts and components needed
to complete the aircraft at the lowest cost possible, the quick-build kit
provides maximum pre-assembly of the kit parts allowed under the "51%
rule," to save the builder valuable time. |

With the Quick-Build Kit the
complete airframe has been pre-jigged with nearly all parts pre-aligned and
holes pre-drilled. Many sections are disassembled for easy shipping and
final assembly by the builder.
The rudder “Starter
Kit” has not been pre-drilled or assembled: The vertical tail parts
still need to be lined up, drilled and riveted together as part of the
introductory “Starter
Kit” or factory workshop.
The Quick-Build Kit is
supplied in a factory wood crate (at no additional charge). Due to the
physical size of the crate it is not recommended that the Quick-Build Kit be
shipped by regular common carrier. We recommend that the crate be picked up
or that special shipping arrangements be made. |
